Bad intersection geometry made worse by too few stop signs and bad stop sign locations with no stop lines on the ones we have.
I've written to City Traffic Engineer, Mr Blake, but wanted to record the issue here, too.
Drivers from Jackson Road cruise through this intersection without stopping (because they have no stop sign) and then angle themselves at a strange slant so as to ignore the stop on Sagamore. Same for drivers going Lakeview to Jackson, they have no stop and they drive fast and at a strange angle.
Drivers on Sagamore Ave also seldom stop because the Stop signs are poorly located, hard to see, and don't really "make sense" compared to the vibes that the intersection sends of "you have the right of way on the big, straight street" and stopping here is "mid block" or "too late"
Probably needs stop sign on Lakeview in the short term, better paint (stop lines, crosswalk @ school bus stop) in the medium term, and curb and sidewalk changes in the long term.

I'm also guessing that Sagamore "inbound" has become (in the last 5 years? Thanks to Waze?) more of a morning cut-through used by traffic coming inbound on the Mystic Valley Parkway (from Winchester) that wants to go east on High St without having to wait for the MVP@High St rotary.
Sagamore has been a 20mph street (almost despite its wideness) for decades as a strategy of taming its use. Getting the stop signs right would help a lot.
