The decision to lock the gate was to encourage parking on the east side of the ball diamonds. However, the gate will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. throughout the summer/fall. For residents attending Bombers games that may have mobility issues and/or a disability, it can be arranged for the gate to be opened to allow entry into the ball park. It may also be possible for the gate to be opened during a tournament. For more information on requesting the gate be opened (for specific situations only) please contact City Hall.

Council has recently discussed the complaints received regarding the lack of accessibility when the gate is locked, as well as the parking complaints from residents in the 14th Street area. Council has decided to keep the gate open daily, except when there is a Brooks Bombers game, where the gate will be closed at 4:00 p.m. It is the expectation of Council and staff that users of the Regional Ballpark access the park via the parking lot on the east side of the complex. The paved pathway on the west side of the complex is intended to be used by pedestrians and cyclists from the surrounding neighbourhoods. Parking and other behaviours will be closely monitored by enforcement staff and if any infractions are found (parking or otherwise) offenders will be fined.
