  • 41 Sagamore Avenue Medford, Massachusetts - Medford

Please replace the "Speed Limit 20 MPH" sign on the telephone pole on the island at the middle of Sagamore Ave is mounted too high, its "white" has turned grey, and its black is peeling off.

It is mounted so high up that it isn't really where you'd expect to see a Speed Limit sign. At night the "white" is non-reflective, so it is dark-on-dark.

Football sized (small diameter but deep) pothole where Tontine St meets Boston Ave westbound.
  • 65 Harvard Ave Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
This sign is hard to see/notice. The black parts have faded and the background seems dull. It seems the whole stretch of Harvard Ave between Boston Ave and Mystic RIver Rd is 25MPH (the other sign is as you come from MVP). This does get a lot of pedestrian traffic to/from W.Med.Sq. Maybe another sign in the Jerome St / Sharon St area as a reminder?

Someone has spray-painted the rim of the pothole (in contrasting colors). About 2~3 feet across and about 2 feet into the "driving part" of the road, the asphalt is entirely gone exposing gravel beneath. (Nearby on the odd-numbered side, there's a smaller patch, the sub-asphalt is still intact, but would be nice to patch "while you're at it")
  • 100 Cambridge St Cambridge, Massachusetts - East Cambridge

Inbound/Eastbound on Cambridge St at First St, there is a "No Turn on Red" sign controlling turns onto First Street. Drivers frequently miss it (until tree was trimmed it was *very* hard to see, now it is better) but this may due to location. Sign is on a near-corner pole, but the traffic lights are all on the far inbound side.

Suggest *adding* a "No Turn on Red" sign to the same pole/mast as the traffic lights are on (on the far side of the inbound direction)

  • 15 Inman St Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge

Driving on Inman Street as it approaches City Hall, visitors make an illegal/dangerous left because they never see a sign telling them that Bishop Allen is One Way coming at them, and that they cannot turn left. This is a mix of sign-position problems and tree obstruction. A One Way sign on the "far" (12 Inman) corner would help, or a "No Left Turn"

In the same way, coming one way from Bishop Allen into Inman, a "No Right Turn" sign (onto Inman) under the Stop sign would help.

The required "clear sight triangle" that allows drivers to safely see each other has been blocked by the replacement of 4 sections of fence. Located on the triangular tip of Sherman St & Sharon St @ High St. Fence was changed in early July from chain link (which had permitted safe views) to solid PVC, which blocks views.
  • 2460 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge
Water valve cover is depressed and surrounded only by gravel/sand. Pavement missing for about a 1' square area around it. Location is dangerous because it is in the center of the zone where cyclists tend to ride (near the left side of the left hand inbound travel lane). Located near "Tyler Ct" the alley between 2460 Mass and 2464 Mass Ave
  • 7 Elm Street Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
A replacement pole has been placed directly in front of the old pole and its old 30mph speed limit sign, blocking it from view from northeast-bound Elm St. Worse, the speed limit sign was already faded and not reflective. Could we get a new speed limit sign on the new pole?

  • 61-99 Cotting St Medford, MA 02155, USA - Medford
2 faded "Do Not Enter" and 1 defaced Stop, and another Stop both faded and defaced. Maybe the Do Not Enter that forbids a right from Cotting onto West should be a No Right Turn (and placed so you can see it before you are already in the turn? Think "Stop Bush" graffiti refers to Jeb? In any case it's done its job ;-)

Pole 4875 has a rectangular floodlight aimed at 196 Boston Ave. This is the kind of light that "washes" the whole side of a building. Not clear if it is up to Cummings Properties at 196 to maintain, but it sure is buzzing loudly. Pole is located in the alley/driveway behind 184 Boston Ave near where the U-Haul driveway crosses the fenceline to become 196 Boston Ave's alley/driveway.
